The Dematic Automated Piece Picking System for Direct Access uses an automated storage sub-system to provide direct access to inventory. Each aisle of the automated storage sub-system is connected directly to a single goods-to-person workstation for a simple, cost-effective conveyor sub-system. If necessary, inter-aisle functionality within the automated storage sub-system allows totes to reach a workstation for another aisle.
The system is an efficient piece picking order assembly solution for retailers, wholesalers, and B2B distributors looking to maximize the performance of their distribution operations. Typical users lack warehouse space for conventional picking systems, require a high level of order accuracy, and must manage more than 10,000 stock keeping units (SKUs), most of which are low velocity. System management
The Dematic Warehouse Execution System (WES) software manages a continuous flow of orders for processing downloaded from the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The Dematic WES software synchronizes labor, inventory, and equipment to assemble orders with speed and accuracy. The entire process is optimized from storage put-away to order picking and packing.
The Dematic WES software can accommodate high numbers of SKUs and order volumes. It ensures efficient and responsive fulfillment through order management and planning SKU storage locations. The software allows multiple orders to be picked simultaneously at each workstation and inserts priority orders at the top of the processing queue. It is scalable and can be expanded or reconfigured. Scan validation ensures order accuracy.
