Celebrating Manufacturing Excellence at Dematic

Our manufacturing is a fantastic team of professionals focused on performance, but with safety and compliance in their DNA. We embrace a Project First culture — not doing what’s easy but doing what's right for the business.
Many people who work in manufacturing are producing important products. What makes a real difference at Dematic is the way we embrace safety, quality, and compliance to ensure everybody returns home safely at the end of the day. We can manufacture products in different ways, but there is only one way to work safely and in compliance at Dematic, and that's without compromise.
I'm really proud of this team because of the deep sense of accountability, never backing off, and still keeping an agile mindset to leverage our organizational strengths and navigate daily challenges to keep things moving.
Collaboration in China
Dematic China has two plants: Suzhou and Jinan. Suzhou manufactures SRMs, miniload AS/RSs, the Dematic Multishuttle®, inbound and outbound conveyors, and lifters. Jinan manufactures BK25 pallet conveyors, modular conveyor systems, and will be producing high-round SRMs in 2025. We have established a reliable local supply base to support the regional business and long-term relationships with our vendors to ensure obtain get high-quality materials and components, all in a timely manner.
Dematic China manufacturing uses real-time data and monitoring systems to adjust product scheduling and supply plans, ensuring rapid response to changing customer needs.
To deliver the best quality solution, the China cross-functional team maintains a high level of communication and collaboration. Ongoing training and professional development ensure team members stay on top of the latest technology and industrial trends. Manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams are encouraged to visit project sites regularly to review status, get feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure each project meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Deep knowledge in Americas
In our America's manufacturing plants, we have three primary locations. First is Monterey, Mexico, where we make conveyor systems, sortation systems, and Dematic Multishuttle. Next, in Salt Lake City, Utah, we build AS/RSs, multishuttle lift modules, and specialty projects such as parcel identification and delivery systems and our slam lines. And finally, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we build AGVs.
The people who work in these facilities have deep knowledge of the manufacturing lifecycle. Take for example Salt Lake City — the team builds components, assembles them, and tests the product within the facility. They then follow products through to customer sites to make sure they're installed and commissioned properly. This is a great benefit for our project teams and keeps us delivering quality projects consistently.
Even better, we have had great safety records in our Americas facilities. We have not had a lost-time injury in our Grand Rapids plant for over two years. Our Monterey facility has never had one in the 10 years it has been open. And our Salt Lake plant is 13 years and counting with no lost-time injuries (LTI).
Automation in Australia
At our factory in Belrose, we manufacture carton conveyor, AGVs, pallet racking, high bay AS/RSs, and Dematic Multishuttle racking. Dematic, with its Colby Storage Solutions unit, also manufactures racking product in Australia so we can install in a timely manner and meet Australia’s expectation of high quality. Approximately 80% of our market is Australia, but we ship into Asia, Singapore, and to New Zealand as well. Dematic and Colby were recently awarded the Steel Sustainability Australia Certification for our efforts our efforts in efficient, sustainable manufacturing.
Over the past few years, Belrose invested heavily in automation, focusing on robotics and material handling equipment. But safety is still the top priority. We are nearly eight years without a lost time injury. And through our automation program and our vigilance on safety, we continue to push that zero loss-time for injury for years to come.
Europe in action
We have three manufacturing sites in Europe: Our facility in Cernusco, Italy, manufacturers the crossbelt (circular) sortation systems. Our facility in Stribro, Czech Republic, manufactures modular conveyor systems, the Dematic Multishuttle, and the Dematic Pouch Sorter. And our facility in Offenbach, Germany, focuses on high complexity, low-volume products, like SRMs. With three centrally located facilities in the region, Dematic is uniquely close to most installation sites.
Within our facilities, we set high standards for our daily tasks. Quality is a lifestyle, not merely a one-time event.

With adaptability and flexibility as volume demands change, our dynamic operating model aligns with shifts in customer priorities to deliver products and solutions that complement facility workflows and processes.
We have many safety milestones across all facilities, including our Ready, Safe + Sound pledge which promotes a culture of safety and responsibility so our employees are looking out for each other every day. I am so proud of our manufacturing teams. They always have the Project First mindset and deliver to the customer.
