The Dematic Case Pick System for Retail Store Replenishment is an order fulfillment system using convey and sort with multi-level pick modules for growing operations that need to maximize store replenishment productivity. The system features light-directed picking, convey and sort capabilities, high pick accuracy, and consistently predictable results. Mixed case pallets are assembled manually. Semi-automated and automated palletizing options may be included.
It is an order fulfillment system to replenish the brick-and-mortar stores of retailers. Typical retailers include grocery, general merchandise, apparel, pharmaceutical, and office supply. Other users may include distributors of industrial supplies and producers of consumable products.
The Dematic Case Pick System for Retail Store Replenishment has a pre-engineered, standardized design configuration that ensures predictable order picking performance.
The system replenishes retail stores by creating mixed case pallets (either manually or with robotics) that are placed onto a truck trailer at the shipping dock. Alternatively, the system can be configured to load the cases directly into truck trailers (fluid loading).
The Dematic Warehouse Execution System (WES) software manages order picking and sorting. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) is responsible for inventory management, receiving, and put away into the pick modules. It also directs the palletizing process at shipping.
The Dematic WES software can accept orders from the WMS in multiple ways, but typically as discrete orders. The Dematic WES software includes supervisor interface screens to provide a global view of picking, pick performance, system progress, order information, picks per operator, total picks, and items packed.

Status and completion
Dematic case picking systems are more accurate, require less labor to operate, and use less warehouse space than conventional case picking systems.
Conventional Case Picking | Case Pick — Retail Store, Convey, Sort Palletize |
Large footprint | Smaller system footprint |
One mixed case pallet picked with one pass through the warehouse | Efficiently pick each SKU at one time for all order in the warehouse |
Case pick at floor level | 3 to 4 level case pick modules |
Non-strategic mixed case pick and palletize | Strategic and synchronized case pick and palletize |
Longer pick path | Shorter pick paths |
Manual palletizing, manual driving pallet truck to shipping | Automated convey and sort to shipping door, manual or robotic palletize |
Less throughput capacity | More throughput capacity |
